4 charts that suggest there is no slowing down for AI progress

PLUS: How to use AI to create your very own “idea machine”.

Today we cover why the data suggests that there is no slowing down for AI progress, as well as the news that Zoom is rethinking its AI privacy strategy.

We also highlight two cool new tools focussed on managing your data.

For this week’s tip we teach you how to use AI to create your very own “idea machine”.

Let’s get to it!

🥽 3 TRENDS

4 Charts that show why AI progress is unlikely to slow down. (🔗 link)

AI progress is unlikely to slow down, driven by consistent advancements in three primary areas: computation, data, and algorithms.

Over the past 70 years, researchers have enhanced AI systems by utilizing greater computational processing power, feeding more data, and innovating algorithmic techniques.

This progress is demonstrated by the development from early artificial neural networks to sophisticated models like GPT-4.

Experts predict that AI will continue to evolve at a rapid pace, leveraging more data and efficient algorithms, despite concerns about potential misuse in domains such as cybersecurity and nuclear technology.

Zoom walks back its stance on using your data to train its AI (🔗 link)

Interesting to see Zoom Video Communications about face and amended its terms of service to confirm that it will not use any customer content for training generative artificial intelligence models.

This update follows concern over recent changes in Zoom's TOS that seemed to allow the company royalty-free rights for customer calls and presentations for AI training.

Zoom initially responded that it doesn't use customer audio, video, or chat for training AI without consent, and now has explicitly stated it will not use such content for generative AI development at all.

The company also rolled out two AI features, Zoom IQ Meeting Summary and Zoom IQ Team Chat Compose, and is following the trend of incorporating some form of AI into their product offering.

Custom instructions in ChatGPT now available to OpenAI users for free. (🔗 link)

Custom instructions are being introduced to ChatGPT, allowing all users to set preferences and requirements that the model will consider in every conversation.

This update, which is in response to feedback from users in 22 countries, acknowledges the essential role steerability plays in adapting to diverse needs.

With these instructions, preferences will be remembered across conversations, benefiting various users such as teachers and developers by removing the need to repeat specific information.

This is important because it enables a more personalized and efficient interaction with AI models, aligning them more closely with unique requirements and potentially saving time and resources.

🛠️ 2 TOOLS

 FOR THE CTO
Artie.so : Real time data streaming for non-coders. (🔗 link)

Artie Transfer is an open source data integration platform that enables real-time data replication between databases and data warehouses.

Artie can be beneficial for a CTO in a medium-sized company as it enables real-time data transfer between databases and data warehouses, reducing the data latency from multiple hours down to seconds.

This can help the CTO make better decisions by unlocking real-time insights.

 FOR THE DATA NERD
Amplitude AI - Data governance democratized. (🔗 link)

Amplitude AI has introduced a new feature called Data Assistant, designed to supercharge data governance within an organization.

This AI-powered tool provides intelligent recommendations and automation, easing the maintenance and improvement of data quality across different teams.

By evaluating events against best practices, grouping similar events, prioritizing and categorizing them, Data Assistant aggregates suggestions that can enhance data quality.

The new feature is part of Amplitude's ongoing efforts to leverage AI technology to ensure seamless and efficient data governance, with more enhancements planned for the near future.

💡 1 TIP

How to create an “Idea Machine” that creates blog suggestions and titles for any topic and audience.

If you are looking to create content ideas around a particular topic and need a quick way to create title suggestions below is an incredible prompt that can help you get the ideas flowing.

Here is how it works.

Follow the two step process below and insert the following prompts into Chat GPT or Bing Chat and watch the magic unfold.

## AI PROMPTS ## 👇🏻

Step 1: Start by specifying the framework for the AI to follow

"I am going to train you to become an infinite content idea Machine.

Here's how it works: there are 4 types of ideas we can generate.

The 4 primary types of ideas are:

  • Actionable

  • Analytical

  • Aspirational

  • Anthropological

Then there are sub-topics within each of these buckets:

Actionable (here's how)

  • Tips

  • Tools

  • Hacks

  • Advice

  • Resources

  • Frameworks

  • Ultimate Guides

  • Curation (the best books/podcasts/threads)

Analytical (here's a breakdown)

  • Trends

  • Numbers

  • Reasons

  • Examples

  • Teardowns

  • Swipe files

Aspirational (yes, you can)

  • Lessons

  • Mistakes

  • Reflections

  • Personal stories

  • Stories of growth

  • Underrated traits

  • Advice to past self

Anthropological (here’s why)

  • Fears

  • Failures

  • Struggles

  • Paradoxes

  • Observations

  • Comparisons

  • Why others are wrong

  • Why you’ve been misled

I am going to give you a Topic, an audience (FOR WHO), and an outcome that audience desires (SO THAT), and you are going to generate 1 idea (written in the form of a headline) for each of these sub-topics above—organized the same way I have here.

Do you understand?"

Step 2 : Customize per your unique idea

"Topic = Lead Generation

For Who = Mid market companies

So That = Improve top of funnel volume"

Step 3

Hit Enter…Enjoy 😀

Thats a wrap!
